Culinary Adventure at The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island
Connoisseurs will surely enjoy a vacation in The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island since the Salt Culinary Kitchen will be there to offer cooking lessons. As a matter of fact, the partakers of this culinary tour will gain knowledge of new recipe and cooking skills directly from the well-known Chef de Cuisine Rick Laughlin.
In this epicurean tour, the guests will be able to revive their love for the art of cooking. According to Chef Rick, the love for this art itself is a chief ingredient that makes a food truly delicious. The lack of enthusiasm in creating scrumptious dishes will then lead to failure of achieving the goal.
For the year of 2011, the Salt Culinary Kitchen will be presenting five different cooking themes and these are the Holiday Classics, New American Grilling, Spring Flavors, Oktoberfest, and French Classics. The students will be helped by the team of chefs so that they would be able to gain new cooking skills.
For a more focused learning, one class will consists of 20 guests only. And through this, a friendly and exciting environment will also be promoted.
The 2011 Salt Cooking Sessions is now open for bookings and each of the themes has its own schedule. For example, the “Spring Flavors” theme has already been finished during the month of April. The following schedules are those that will take place from June to December.
First off, the French Classics will take place on June 6 to 7, 2011. In this session, the guests will discover some of the traditional French dishes such as beef bourguignon and coq-au-vin. Pastries such as the chocolate éclair will also be learned by the students.
On August 17 to 18, the guests of The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island will gain knowledge of the New American Grilling. People will be able to take pleasure from BBQ grilling, which is the same past-time that is enjoyed by the Americans. Skills in braising, grilling, smoking, and sauce-making will be developed in this session.
October 26 to 27 is dedicated for the theme of Oktoberfest and this is where guests will be learning homemade pretzels, schnitzel, streusel, and sauerbraten. Meanwhile, the Holiday Classics will be held on December 15 to 16, 2011 and the students will be trained in making the holiday dishes with a twist.
The cost of the Salt Cooking School Package is about $879 per individual and $1,239 per pair. This is already inclusive of breakfast, 2 nights of stay, a recipe book, etc. Without accommodations, the package will only cost $399 per individual.
