Condé Nast Traveller magazine has recently named the King Pacific Lodge the top luxury resort in Canada and the fourth best in the world. The King Pacific Lodge is a floating resort on the Princess Royal Island in the heart of the teeming forests of British Columbia. There are no roads; this peaceful getaway is only accessible by boat or sea plane.
The fresh pine, fir, cedar and stone luxury lodge from Rosewood Hotels & Resorts includes seventeen guest rooms and suites, a wrap-around deck with spectacular views, spa, Jacuzzi and plunge pool. Guests are invited to explore the rich area around them with a variety of activities like whale watching, fly fishing, saltwater fishing, hiking, kayaking, Kermode Bear viewing, visiting a Longhouse in the native Gitga’at village, or just simply reading a book overlooking the ocean.
The King Pacific Lodge is a regional leader in eco-luxury. The Lodge has a working contract with the native Gitga’at and maintains a complementary relationship between the surrounding land, ocean and people. King Pacific’s President, Michael Uehara was also strongly involved with the creation of the Great Bear Rainforest State Park to preserve 4.4 million acres, including Princess Royal Island.
Guests are escorted to the luxury lodge by private charter from Vancouver Airport. The lodge features a Great Room with cathedral ceilings, ocean views, inviting sofas, over sized armchairs and a double-sided fireplace. There is also a game room, an elegant dining room with gorgeous ocean views and a luxury spa. The Spa at King Pacific Lodge combines chic international treatments with local products from the surrounding environment.
