The Best Restaurants in Aspen

There’s more to Aspen than just premium-grade skiing and beautiful luxury chalets. The people and resort owners within this winter wonderland of sorts will do everything in their power to make sure that visitors will have an unforgettable experience in this city.

Besides which, aside from your choice picks of ski adventures, fun getaways, and family ski vacations, Aspen/Snowmass will also be home to the ESPN Winter X Games from January 26 to 29 on 2012. It’s no coincidence why such a popular event will be held at this popular destination that’s regularly flocked by celebrities; it is the epitome of what winter fun is all about.

More importantly, Aspen is also fine dining paradise as well. It’d be a crime to overlook this important aspect of the Aspen experience just because it’s more renowned for its skiing, chalets, and VIP guests.

Jimmy’s An American Restaurant is a great place to start when it comes to having a taste at what Aspen has to offer in terms of gastronomical pleasures. The “Fierce American Food” found at Jimmy’s includes desserts, burgers, wild game, seafood, steaks, and so forth. It even features tango and salsa dancing every 10:30 PM on Saturday.

If you want an unreal oriental experience in fine dining, then you should head on over to Matsuhisa Aspen. It may run a bit expensive, but you better believe that every penny counts in this Japanese-inspired seafood and sushi eatery manned by world-renowned chef Nobu Matsuhisa. You have the choice between delicious salmon tartar, appetizing oysters, luscious filet mignon with teriyaki sauce, unforgettable black cod in miso sauce, spicy yellowtail jalapeño, and many other scrumptious treats that will leave your mouth watering for days on end.

If you’re more of a French dining aficionado, then Aspen‘s Rustique Bistro is there to provide you with only the best dishes that France has to offer.

Even though the Rustique Bistro is one of the newer restaurants in Aspen, it’s also the fastest growing one in terms of popularity thanks to its heavenly dishes of pecan tarts, rainbow trout, black mussels, and risotto. An order of braised short beef ribs is always a client favorite, so it’s highly recommended that you try it.

Also, as expected of a topnotch restaurant, the ambiance at the Pacifica Seafood and Raw Bar is superb, the service is divine, and the food is to die for, at the very least. Every last, flavorful dish—from Alaskan king crab legs to ceviche—is cooked to perfection. It’s something that needs to be experienced firsthand.
