A trip to Chamonix is not complete without the glacier trail Vallée Blanche, one of the most famous in the region. If you want to try activities other than skiing and snowboarding, you can try ice climbing with a ski-cab snowmobile or explore a total of 17 kilometers of hiking trails. A real highlight is to take a ride in the small red cogwheel railway “Chemin de fer du Montenvers”, it heads to the top of the picturesque Montenvers, a viewpoint over the glacier Mer de Glace. Another highlight is an ice cave with ice sculptures on the glacier. If you want to go further, you can take the cable car up to the summit of the Aiguille du Midi. From the viewing platform you can observe the winter sportsmen who hunt down the slopes. A real adrenaline kick can give you a step on the glass box on Aiguille du Midi, over 1000 meters above the precipice, which offers a unique panoramic view. In the summer, Chamonix also invites you to an active holiday. Through the mountains and valleys there are numerous hiking trails, you can also fly paragliding and play golf.
