Bali travel guide

Lush tropical nature, fantastic beaches, mystical temples and people who always have a smile – Bali is a vacation paradise in the middle of the Indian Ocean, where sun worshipers and discovering individual surfers alike can get their money’s worth. Paradizo has been offering luxury villas in Bali for a long time and we want to share our expert knowledge with you so your stay in Bali will be a truly unforgettable experience.

Sunset in Tanah Lot

Bali has a lot of great beaches, some of which are rather unsuitable for swimming and more suitable for surfers because of its strong currents. Interesting for Bali holidaymakers is that the north coast of Bali has mainly black sand of rock volcanic origin, the beaches on the Gilis and the rest of Bali however have beautiful white sand. The south coast of Kuta has some great beaches with advanced surfing spots, and on the other side of Nusa Dua you can find great beaches for swimming. Also, the coast from Kuta to Canggu is perfect for people who want to learn surfing. The beach in Sanur has a beautiful promenade with a big number of cozy restaurants. On the island, Nusa Lembongan you can find many amazing white sandy beaches and hidden gems between the cliffs. The north coast with its mostly dark volcanic rocky sand cannot be forgotten, a great place for snorkeling and diving.

The best regions

The center of Bali is located in the south, there are not only the most hotels, but also an international airport and the capital. In this region, you can find fantastic sandy beaches and famous holiday resorts. We especially recommend the regions of Kuta, Sanur, Seminyak, Ubud, Nusa Dua and Legian. Active volcanoes in impressive heights can be found in the East of Bali in an almost infinite density. The East is very idyllic with lots of nature and this region has quite its charm because it is not so overflowed by tourism. The north of Bali is not comparable to the lively south, because it is much quieter and more relaxed here. Mysterious mountains, lakes, volcanic landscapes and mystical beach sections make the north a popular holiday destination. We especially recommend the Lovina and Denpasar regions. The “wild” west of Bali is by no means dangerous, it is not very touristic developed and therefore it is a bit quieter. There is a large national park, therefore the perfect place for nature lovers. We especially recommend the Lombok region.

Things to do

The island of Bali is very large and there are many small places to discover. Above all, each of these small places is a little different, so it is recommended to make a round trip. We also recommend to discover the beautiful underwater world of Bali. Either scuba-diving or snorkeling, around Bali you will find one of the most beautiful diving areas in the world. In the small fishing village Padang Bai you can find your peace. The small sleepy village has a very unique flair. Here there are many diving schools, super delicious restaurants and beautiful white sandy beaches. A trip to the beautiful Gili Islands is a must do, with its beautiful white, partly secluded beaches, crystal clear water, quiet and simply paradise. The rice fields at Ubud are marvelous and are a must do. Bali has a beautiful landscape and especially the rice fields provide a unique view. And of course, it is recommended to make a surf course in Bali, the island offers optimal waves for beginners and professionals alike.
