Bermuda Voted Top Caribbean Island

Every year, the luxury travel publication called Condé Nast Traveller holds an awarding for the most preferred vacation island in the regions of Caribbean and Atlantic. In 2010, Bermuda won Condé Nast Travellers’ Best Island in the Caribbean or Atlantic award during the Readers’ Choice Awards. Bermuda‘s government was overjoyed when they heard of Condé Nast Traveller’s good news about the preferences of their readers regarding recreational expeditions.

Bermuda surely owned the spotlight when the island received quite a huge amount of votes from more than 30,000 avid fans who voted in the contest led by the Condé Nast Traveller magazine. As a matter of fact, aside from obtaining the Best Island award, Bermuda’s popular resort, The Reefs Resort, also took the highest spot in the Top Resort in the Atlantic winning list. Of course, it was not only The Reefs Resort that became triumphant since there were other recreation sites in Bermuda that made way into the Top 10 list of this particular category. In fact, two of the hottest relaxation spots in Bermuda, the Fairmont Southampton and Tucker’s Point Resort, also crept their way into Condé Nast Traveller’s award-winning list of wonderful resorts.

Bermuda truly possessed the blessing of the Lady Luck in this luxury travel periodical guide’s contests. In the yearend issue of Condé Nast Traveller magazine, it was published that Bermuda victoriously also won an award in the Caribbean World Awards.

Department of Tourism’s director, William Griffith, expressed their gratitude to all the enthusiastic readers of the Condé Nast Traveller magazine. According to Griffith, they were very much flattered that the readers thought highly of Bermuda, allowing them to dominate the list of the finest vacations spots in both the Caribbean and Atlantic region. In addition, the Director of Bermuda’s Department of Tourism conveyed that they are extremely pleased that Bermuda was fairly chosen by the tourists among all the other equally splendid islands in their region. Their government believes that this award was a genuine proof of their unrelenting dedication in offering unforgettable Bermudan vacation to their guests all through out the year.

Bermuda’s success and its soaring popularity as a vacation spot in the regions of Atlantic and Caribbean are not evident only in the Caribbean World and Condé Nast Traveller awards. In point of fact, even Park Hyatt, one of the largest hotel chains around the world, has a high opinion of the island of Bermuda. And, in line with this, the company has approved to establish a new resort in St. George’s UNESCO Heritage Site. Construction of the planned Park Hyatt Bermuda will begin on November in the year 2011 and it is predicted that the hotel will be finished in about 24 to 30 months.
