Hawaii travel guide

Sandy beaches, lush rainforests and always nice weather: If you think of Hawaii, you will soon feel happy and wander. You have pictures of light flower chains, high waves and coconut palms in your head. And anyone who has ever been to Maui, Oahu or the other Hawaiian Islands knows that you cannot find the harmony – that special Aloha spirit – and the magnificent volcanic landscapes anywhere else in the world. Paradizo has been offering luxury villas in Hawaii for a long time and we want to give you some insights for your next trip there, so you can enjoy this paradise even more.

Things to do

Hawaii is one of the most remote archipelagos in the world and has everything it promises. Pristine beaches, clean air, clear sea, a bright sun, and occasionally a shower of rain whipping the palm trees and cleaning the leaves of this lush vegetation. Add to this a unique flora and fauna in a truly breathtaking natural scenery. Some 130 islands belong to the state of Hawaii, most of them are tiny, uninhabited islands. Inhabited and developed are only the six major volcanic islands at the end of the chain. Even the perfect climate attracts us Central Europeans. In the winter it is on average pleasant 26 during the day, 30 degrees in the summer. On the island of O’ahu is the well-known port and location of the eponymous film “Pearl Harbor”, which is worth a visit. To experience the true beauty of the island, we recommend a half-day hiking trip to Manoa Falls. In addition to the highest accessible waterfall of the island are more small waterfalls, crystal clear streams and rare plants in full bloom to admire. If you are already in Hawaii, the hula is mandatory. The typical Hawaiian dance tells stories and is an old Hawaiian tradition. Hawaii’s largest island in the archipelago is home to a large number of volcanoes. One of them, the “Kīlauea”, has been continuously active since 1983. He is next to other active volcanoes part of the “Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park” and thus worth a trip in any case.

Best Beaches

Hawaii is world famous for its beautiful beaches. The Aloha State is home to all types of beaches, with white, black, and even green and red sand. Some beaches are great for surfing, others invite for a snorkeling and diving adventure. Paradizo recommends you especially the “Hanalei Beach”. This two-mile-long scenic North Shore beach is the perfect place to watch a romantic sunset. A definite must see is the “Waikiki Beach”, which is one of the world’s most famous beaches. The beach is one of the most beautiful city beaches in the world, so much is going on here at any time of the day. Another world-famous beach is “Kaanapali Beach” in West Maui. It offers 3 miles of white sand and was named “America’s Best Beach” in 2003. Another real highlight is “Kaihalulu Beach”, also known as Red Sand Beach, is a hidden beach near Hana on Maui’s East Coast. As well as “Punaluu Beach Park”, which is a remote beach in northeastern Big Island is one of Hawaii’s most famous black sand beaches.

Due to the secluded location in the Pacific, there are great places for diving on almost every beach in Hawaii. Both beginners and advanced surfers will find many fantastic surf spots. It’s not for nothing that Hawaii is considered worldwide an absolute surfing hotspot. Most beaches where the waves break wonderfully can be found on Oahu, but the other islands have also much to offer. The Kahaluu beach in Hawaii is one of the biggest sandy beaches in Hawaii is also great for surfing. Is is ideal for beginners and advanced surfers, the waves break here quite often and especially during the week is not very busy. Apart from the good waves, you can snorkel and dive on Kahaluu Beach, where many turtles and a large number of colorful fish live. On the north coast of Oahu, the waves on Ehukai Beach are ideal for surfers who are a bit beyond the beginner level, but still do not want too big waves.  Right at the mouth of a river into the sea, Honolii is one of the best surfing spots on The Big Island. The rocky surface is not quite as pleasant as sand, but you are in good hands even as a beginner.
