From London to Russia in Three Hours with Orient-Express Luxury Train

Last updated on

On November 8, the Orient-Express will have an elegant and unique black-tie celebration aboard their luxury train, the British Pullman. As the train glides from London Victoria Station, guests will immediately feel as though they have been transported into the heart of Russia.

Executive Chef Dominique Ferchaud and his Sous Chef Yoan Bernard from the Grand Hotel Europe in St. Petersburg will collaborate with British Pullman Executive Chef Matthew Smith to create a sumptuous meal fit for a Czar. The magical ride begins at the London Victoria lounge with vodka cocktails and a traditional bread and salt ceremony. Once aboard the opulent carriages, personal stewards serve a delectable Russian-inspired feast from the three world-renowned culinary masters. Musicians will perform romantic Russian love songs and guests will be presented with a set of traditional Russian dolls as well as chocolate made by Ferchaud in the Grand Hotel Europe’s Chocolate Factory.

The British Pullman’s elegant art deco carriages were all designed and built in the 1920s and 30s. The train preserves the classic glamour of an earlier time, when women wore cloche hats and everything was black-tie. The British Pullman provides a stylish assortment of day excursions and short travel luxury experiences across the UK. The Orient Express also invites guests to select from a luxury collection of special celebration journeys for Christmas, New Year’s, Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day.

The Orient-Express luxury trains are available around the world. Guests can travel in style and unrivaled comfort in France, Italy, Peru, Scotland, Myanmar, South East Asia and the United Kingdom. The Venice-Simplon Orient-Express train also glides swiftly across Europe, visiting prime destinations like Venice, Rome, Prague, Paris, London, Istanbul and Budapest, among others. The Orient-Express Hotels, Trains & Cruises is a luxury hotel & travel company that owns or part-owns and manages fifty-one businesses in twenty-five countries, including the famous Hotel Cipriani in Venice, The Grand Hotel Europe in St. Petersburg, Hotel Ritz Madrid and the Observatory in Sydney.
