Must visit places

The French Riviera has some true highlights of its beautiful region. A must visit is the vibrant city Nice, which is situated in the East between the Mediterranean Sea and stunning mountains of the Mercantour National Park. It is full of high class restaurants, cafes, bars and little boutiques. As its beach is stony it is not the best spot for sunbathing.  Cannes is another glamour and luxury paradise with its VIP nightclubs and fine dining restaurants and fashion boutiques, the perfect place to spend the weekend. Have a walk at the promenade and rent a sun lounger at the sandy beach in one of its exclusive beach clubs. In May, its full of action with the world-famous Cannes film Festivals. The small town of St Tropez is also a not to miss. Being the playground for the rich and celebrities it offers a lively night scene with many high-class establishments. Monaco is also a world-famous place for Europe’s high society in the French Riviera. Being a sovereign state it has its own government. It is full of glamourous places, restaurants, cafes, bars and luxury shops.

Restaurants

The French Riviera offers a large variety of fine dining restaurants, offering amazing quality food and services. Places of culinary wisdom offering world class food and inviting its customers to get to know the delicious French cuisine. Truly the right place for food lovers! We recommend the restaurant Daniel Desavie, which is located 7km out of the small village Mougins. This place has built up a very good reputation over the years, offering amazing lobster and having a first-class sommelier offering you a hand to choose the right wine. The Michelin starred restaurant Flaveur is also a culinary must when visiting the French Riviera. With its modern style and haute cuisine, it is quite famous so it is recommended to book a table in advance. Another culinary landmark is the restaurant L’Oasis which is starred with 2 Michelin stars offering a beautiful venue, a gothic villa by the sea. The head chef is known for its excellent Provencal cuisine and famous for its lobster and risotto. The restaurant has an excellent service and offers unexpected flavor collisions.

Beaches

The Côte d’Azur is also famous for its stunning coastline that stretches from Menton in the east to Marseilles in the west. Especially the area around Villefranche-sur-Mer and Nice is full of has amazing white sandy beaches. One recommendation is the Plage de l’Almanarre in Hyères which is mainly known by kite- and windsurfers. This beach is located between Nice and Marseille, near an authentic peninsula town called Giens. One main attraction is that you can spot the region’s famous wild pink flamingos there. A bit more in the south of the Giens you can find a small island called Porquerolles. The island truly beautiful with its stunning white beaches and blue waters and it has an amazing pine forest. Another recommendation is the Paloma Beach which is located on the peninsula Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat. This beach is famous for the high society and it is very probable to spot some celebrities here. Many millionaires and celebrities come here for their holiday. Half of the beach is open to the public and the other half is private, meaning it is rented by the high society. The Pampellone beach in St Tropez is the crown jewel of beaches. More than 5 km of fine white sandy beach, being the most glamourous beach in the party scene with its iconic beach Club 55 where many celebrities spend their summers.

Beach Clubs

The French Riviera is not only known for its stunning beaches, it is full of glamourous beach clubs, which are especially visited by the celebrities and high society. The perfect way to spend your summer holiday, renting a superyacht, lying on a deckchair slurping a first-class cocktail and enjoy the exclusive beautiful beach. In the afternoon, they turn into cocktail lounges where you can party into the night. Most of the beach clubs have DJ’s and live music. We recommend the Nikki Beach Club in Monaco on top of the Fairmont hotel if you are looking for a daytime nightclub atmosphere with young people. The action takes place around the pool with chilled DJ beats and amazing sea views. If you want to spot some celebrities, you should visit the Paloma beach club in Cap Ferrat. It has a rustic charm and stunning views of the cliffs and the Mediterranean Sea. This place is a bit calmer and serves great food, perfect for a visit with the family. Another recommendation is the Z Plage beach club from Hotel Martinez in Cannes. Its designer chick style it’s a great chill out place with its spa massages, comfortable sun lounges and wide beach area.
