Zermatt Luxury Summer Ski Chalets
Following a fantastic winter season (with record snow fall and fantastic conditions on and off piste), it’s almost all over. But that doesn’t mean that ski resorts batten down the hatches and go into hibernation until the season starts again! Instead, they shake off the snow to reveal their verdant beauty and make for a refreshingly different summer vacation destination. Perfect for escaping city smog and blistering heat, ski resorts in summer offer fresh, clean air, spectacular scenery and a host of activities, including hiking, mountain biking, paragliding, rock climbing and of course summer skiing and snowboarding.
For guests visiting Switzerland’s famous ski resort of Zermatt there’s no shortage of activities. The village has organised a host of events to keep summer guests amused and entertained:
The calendar of events includes:
27th June – 1st July
33rd Raiffeisen Open Tennis Tournament
Roger Federer played in this tournament in the past.
Saturday 7th July
11th Zermatt Marathon
The course covers 42,190 metres and conquers over 1,900 metres of vertical ascent. A breath taking panorama to a grueling challenge.
Saturday 28th July
The Matterhorn Eagle Cup
One of Europe’s highest golf tournaments which takes the sport back to its Scottish routes without fairways or perfectly mown greens.
10th – 12th August
Swiss Food Festival
An exhibition of Swiss Produce and Fine Dining with over 246 GaultMillau points represented in Zermatt.
44th Folklore Festival
The highlight is the main parade through the Zermatt high street with 50 different folklore groups and more than 1,200 dancers, yodelers and musicians. This is an unforgettable day at the foot of the Matterhorn with music, dance and lots of good fun!
