Fine Dining guide – The Alps

Paradizo has gained a lot of experience over the last view years in providing luxury chalets in the Alps, that made us became insider in the sector of gourmet and fine dining. Therefore, we thought it would be nice to share some of our experience with you in providing some tips and suggestions about the best restaurants in the Alps, so you can enjoy your stay and ski holidays even more.

 

Restaurant Albert 1er – Chamonix (Mont Blanc), France

The restaurant is part of a 5 * hotel in Chamonix Mont Blanc and existing since 1903. This incredible 2 Michelin starred restaurant is inspired by the local kitchen. It’s head chef is Pierre Maillet which is following the motto: “It’s simplicity that makes perfection. Things are perfect when they taste of what they are”. The style of the restaurant is very modern, natural and subtle and the head chef is trying to preserve the culinary old traditions of the French and Italian Alps.

Restaurant Les Airelles – Courchevel, France

Is a two Micheline starred restaurant in the Hotel “Les Airelles” which is located in the village of Courchevel. It was first opened in 1947 by Yannick Alléno.  The multi star head chef is chef Pierre Gagnaire, who is worldwide known for its creations of different flavors. One of his specialty is the blue lobster corolla coated with a crustacean jelly, the roasted turbot on fishbone finished in the oven on a bed of wrack, leek fondue on the marrow, the “Grand dessert”.

Restaurant Café du Centre – Champéry, Switzerland

One of the best kept culinary secrets of the Alps. From the restaurant, you have a marvelous view on the beautiful village of Champéry. The head chef Denis Martin is practicing the molecular cuisine here which creates very abstract and unique dishes.  One of his specialties is the orange flavored risotto with fried black past in a very abstract style.

Restaurant Le Chesery – Gstaad, Switzerland

The head chef, Robert Speth, and his wife have been the hosts of this chalet since 1984. The restaurant has a traditional an elegant style with a very cozy and authentic atmosphere. The head chef is famous for its traditional local creations in mountain cooking but also offers haute cuisine. Using fresh and fine ingredients the chef is worldwide famous for its amazing cooking abilities. Serving a wide choice of fish dishes such as the turbot filet with artichokes.
