Morocco Travel Guide
Despite its close proximity to Europe, Morocco is a world away. The capital, Marrakech is an exotic, colourful and mysterious city buzzing with life, charm and character – a place which floods the senses with colourful and overwhelming sights, sounds and smells. Think pungent spices, snake charmers, faith healers, bazaars, souks and the medina – the old part of the city that’s still surrounded by 12th-century walls.
Marrakech is also rich in culture and great places of interest that are a testimony to the country’s long history. In contrast, Morocco’s Atlas Mountains (a mere 30km south of Marrakech) are undoubtedly the most beautiful and compelling part of this diverse land. It is a wonderful spot for trekking, hot air ballooning and 4×4 driving.
The Atlas Mountains are an incredible area of wilderness and beauty. As well as offering superb and breathtaking scenery, the Atlas Mountains have some wonderful ‘retreats’ to entice visitors away from the cities and coasts.
The diversity of the areas makes Morocco the perfect destination for those wishing to combine a little culture and adventure. Morocco is a magical place of rest and relaxation where you can do as much, or as little as you want.
