The guest list at a dinner at Pantai Lima, the most sought-after beachfront villas in Bali, on the last Saturday night in August, was a powerful symbol of the property’s success. The dinner was hosted by owners Mathias and Gaelle Echene, and catered by Sebastien Robuchon, the estate’s celebrated in-house chef.

At table, among others, were Elle US fashion news editor Anne Slowey, world famous photographer Douglas Friedman, and American supermodel and environmentalist Angela Lindvall. The silver screen was represented by American actor Mark Wystrach.

Communications professionals included Condé Nast Traveler publisher Darryl Bowman, Jim Kloiber from leading New York agency LaForce & Stevens PR, writer Capucine Geagea and Lionel Geneste, the director of John Hardy’s PR.

Top designers Guy Bedarida, creative director for John Hardy, French accessories creator Nicolas Robert and Francesca Romana, Brazilian jewellery designer, were also at the event. Financiers and captains of industry included real estate mogul Cedric Bauer, John Hardy CEO Damien Demoncourt and international lawyer Wahib Geagea.

Pantai Lima‘s owner, Mathias Echene says the dinner guests on this particular night were typical of the people who have thronged to the estate this season.

“We attract the young and the vigorous, those who like sand on their feet, wind in their hair, people who enjoy relaxed luxury,” he explains. “It seems we have set a certain standard here in Bali and created something that has been communicated largely by word-of-mouth.”

“Consequently we have enjoyed a very high occupancy, a large number of returning guests, and already we are almost fully booked for August 2010 by people who have stayed with us this year,” Echene continues.
Echene attributes Pantai Lima’s success to its unrivalled beachfront location, its luxurious but utterly casual ambience, unobtrusive and discreet service, and the presence of Sebastien Robuchon, the estate’s chef and nephew of the world famous French chef Joël Robuchon, under whom he studied.

“Our banquets, weddings and other celebrations have already become legendary,” Mathias Echene says. Pantai Lima is an exclusive estate of super luxury villas built right on the Bali beachfront at Pererenan, an unspoiled fishing community, a short drive north of Seminyak, Bali’s centre of sophisticated shopping, restaurants and nightlife.

Each of Pantai Lima‘s five luxury beachfront villas: Waringin, Melissa, Sound of the Sea, Ambra, and Mary is individually architecturally-designed and completely different one-from-another. They are all truly spacious, beautifully appointed and completely private. Gardens and pools are satisfyingly vast.
